Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Jupitar yesterday was crowned the African champ at the 15th edition of  Urban Music Awards which was held in London, Porchester.

The “Money Box” hitmaker beat a stiff competition amongst Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Lorine Chia, Vanessa Mdee, Yemi Alade, South Africa’s  Casper Nyovest and Sauti Sol to win the “Artist of the Year (Africa) assemblage.

Jupitar’s 2017 unleashed “Clown” single and visuals earned him nominations in this year’s edition as the only Ghanaian musician  and surely he proved beyond all doubts that he is one of the best Ghana and Africa have  produced when music is made the topic of confabulation.

The Dancehall “General” stands out as the Ghanaian artiste who has been consistent with churning out solely dancehall music.

The Urban Music Awards is the world’s leading HipHop, R&B, Grime, Soul, Jazz, Gospel and EDM awards ceremony launched in the UK and now held annually in over 7 countries including the UK, USA, France, Africa, Caribbean, Asia, and South America.

The UMA’s was born out of the need to build a worldwide awards ceremony to recognise the achievement of urban based artists, producers, club nights, dj’s , radio stations, record labels and artist from the current Dance/R&B, HipHop, Neo Soul, Jazz, and dance music scene.
