Tragedy struck the Sege township in the Ada West District of the Greater Accra Region when a three-year-old boy was found dead in cold blood on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

The little boy (name withheld) was allegedly murdered by his own uncle, a 21-year-old Obed Kabutey, and grandfather Akrofi Kabutey.

According to our sources, Kabutey the uncle, had gone to his mother’s house in the same vicinity at around 7 pm to eat and later left with his younger sister’s son to buy some Indomie noodles.

After a few hours, the little boy’s parents became worried and went out in search of him and Kabutey the uncle.

Madam Emelia Agbi, who was the mother of the suspect and grandmother of the deceased reported the matter to Kabutey’s elder brother who confronted him about the whereabouts of the small boy.

After several minutes of interrogation, Kabutey told his elder brother that his father, Akrofi Kabutey took the little boy from him and sent him (Kabutey) on an errand.

Upon confrontations, the dad denied knowing anything about the incident. However, Obed Kabutey later told them that the 3-year-old boy was in his dad’s kitchen after being bullied for a few minutes.

It was later alleged that Kabutey and the dad had beheaded the little boy and left the body in his father’s kitchen.

Madam Emelia Agbi cried uncontrollably during the interview.
The matter was later reported to the Ada West District Police who came and took the body of the deceased and deposited it at the Catholic Hospital Mortuary Annex at Anyaman in the Ada West District Assembly.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind this gruesome murder.
Meanwhile, the little boy’s family is devastated and mourning the loss of their child.

They are calling on the Police to ensure that justice is served to mitigate the family’s pain.
