Former Presidential staffer, Sam George, has taken a swipe at President Nana Akufo Addo for suggesting that his appointees are not corrupt during his recent encounter with the media.

The Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram said the President has not improved the fight against corruption in anyway by the stance he has chosen to taken by declaring his appointees innocent anytime an allegations of corruption is leveled against them.

He said President Akufo Addo has become a 'Chief clearing agent at the Flagstaff house' who clears his appointees who have come under several allegations of corruptions under his one year old government.

Speaking on the Morning Starr on Friday January 19,2018, Mr. George urged the President to rather concentrate on improving the lives of Ghanaians rather than engaging in rhetorics.

He stated, “He is excellent and fantastic with scripted speeches, He gives you the right insert for your news, the right sound bite but on substance, it is hollow. He is running sound bite government. There are a lot of sound bites in the one year governance. Our President has become a Chief clearing agent at the Flagstaff house. He always clears his appointees who are alleged to be corrupt”.

In reaction, Deputy communication minister and MP for Awutu Senya West, George Andah said the government has delivered on its promises.

“The achievements of Akufo-Addo cannot be disputed. Even though there are few misses. We are working on our misses. I think the first one year of the administration has been fairly good. You can talk about the way to which the economy has been stabilized,” he said.
