President Akufo-Addo has assured CAF President Ahmad of Ghana’s readiness to host the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in November during his speech at the CAF awards yesterday in Accra.

The West African giants secured the hosting rights to the 2018 edition of the eight-nation competition last year.

Nana Addo also reassured Ahmad that the nation will continue to lend its support to all future CAF events and tournaments.

He pointed at the West African Union Cup in 2017 which Ghana hosted successfully.

The 13th edition of the the biennial international football championship organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the women's national teams of Africa, will be held in Ghana, from 17 November to 1 December 2018.

The tournament also doubles as the African qualifiers to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The top three teams will qualify.
