Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku shared his thoughts on Fenerbahce's exit from the Europa Conference League at the quarter-final stage, expressing pride in the team's efforts despite the disappointment.

The Turkish giants were eliminated after a tense penalty shootout against Olympiacos at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.

Despite leveling the tie early through Irfan Kahveci's goal, Fenerbahce couldn't find the breakthrough in regular time or extra time, leading to the shootout.

Reflecting on the outcome, Djiku took to social media to commend the team and the unwavering support of the fans. "Despite this disappointing result, I am proud of this team and our always loyal fans," he wrote.

With their European campaign concluded, Fenerbahce now turn their focus to the Turkish Super Lig, where they aim to secure the league title.

Currently sitting second on the table, only two points behind leaders Galatasaray, Djiku emphasized the team's determination to achieve their final goal of the season.

The 29-year-old defender, who joined Fenerbahce last summer, has been a pivotal figure for the former Turkish champions, contributing to their success in domestic and European competitions throughout the season.
