Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu is filled with anticipation as he embarks on a new chapter with French Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais.

The 23-year-old, known for his versatility, completed a transfer from fellow Ligue 1 side Clermont Foot, with the deal valued at approximately €11 million.

Having successfully undergone mandatory medical checks following his return from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he had limited playing time, Seidu has committed to a four-year contract that extends until 2028.

Expressing his excitement about joining Stade Rennais, Seidu acknowledged the club's stature and considered it a privilege to be part of the team.

He reflected positively on his time at Clermont, where he felt embraced like family and underwent personal growth.

“Stade Rennais is a great club and it's a great privilege for me. I had a great time at Clermont, they gave me everything and welcomed me like a member of the family. I became a man there, and the adventure continues at Rennes and I'm very happy about that.

“I'm a player who doesn't like to lose, I'm a fighter, I give everything for my colleagues and I'm always looking to progress.

“I'm very close to Kamaldeen Sulemana, and I get on very well with Christopher Wooh. The rest of the players I've met on Ligue 1 pitches, and I'm sure things will go well in the dressing room.”
Known as a determined player who despises losing, Seidu emphasized his commitment to giving his all for his teammates and his continuous quest for improvement.

He highlighted his close relationships with fellow players, particularly mentioning his strong bond with Kamaldeen Sulemana and good rapport with Christopher Wooh.

With an eagerness for progress and positive expectations for the camaraderie within the team, Seidu looks forward to facing new challenges and making a meaningful impact at Stade Rennais.
