Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu has disclosed that his close relationship with Kamaldeen Sulemana played a significant role in his decision to sign for Stade Rennais.

“I'm very close to Kamaldeen Sulemana, and I get on very well with Christopher Wooh.

The rest of the players I've met on Ligue 1 pitches, and I'm sure things will go well in the dressing room,” he told the club’s official website.

The revelation came after Seidu finalized his move from Clermont Foot to the French Ligue 1 club, with the transfer fee reported to be around €11 million.

Expressing his camaraderie with former Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana and Christopher Wooh, Seidu shared his positive interactions with players he has encountered on Ligue 1 pitches.

He expressed confidence that these relationships would contribute to a harmonious atmosphere within the dressing room at Stade Rennais.

The versatile 23-year-old defender completed his mandatory medical checks after returning from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he had limited playing time.

Seidu secured his place in the Stade Rennais squad by signing a four-year contract that will keep him with the club until 2028.
