Ghana striker Andre Ayew completed his transfer from West Ham to Swansea on Wednesday for a club record fee.

Swansea confirmed Ayew as their most expensive signing ever, reportedly £18m with £2m in performance related add-ons.

The previous record was held by Borja Baston, who cost £15.5m but departed on loan to Malaga the following summer.

The 28 year old initially joined the Welsh side in the summer of 2015 on a free transfer before departing for the London Stadium in 2016 after a stellar debut campaign in the Premiership, for a then club record £20.5 million.

Ayew excelled at the Liberty stadium during his previous spell at the club, finishing the 2015/16 season as Swansea’s leading goalscorer, netting 12 goals in 35 appearances.
