The National Under-17 side, the Black Starlets of Ghana, secured a 2-0 victory over Benin in their final group game of the ongoing WAFU Zone B Under-17 Championship, topping Group A.

Playmaker Mark Kagawa opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a brilliant lob that set the stadium ablaze.

Just two minutes later, Theophilus Ayamga doubled the lead with a beautiful carpet drive after pouncing on a rebound.

Despite Benin's early attempts to upset the Black Starlets, Ghana's goalkeeper Michael Armah made a crucial save to maintain the lead, stretching to his elastic limit to stop what could have been a spectacular finish.

The Black Starlets went into halftime with a 2-0 lead and continued to dominate in the second half, winning several free kicks but failing to convert them into additional goals.

Benin pushed to reduce the tally, but Ghana's swift-attacking play kept the pressure on until the final whistle.

With this victory, Ghana will now face the second-placed team from Group B in the next stage of the tournament, following the completion of their group games on Wednesday.
