An 18-year-old boy has been sentenced to 18 months jail term by the Wenchi Majistrate Court presided over by Her Worship Vivian Yamusa.
The boy, Kwame Kuma is a native of Subinso No.2 in the Wenchi Municipality of the Brong Ahafo Region.
Presenting the facts of the case, the prosecutor, Chief Inspector John Komla Atikpo said, on 6 February, 2018 about 12:00am Kwame Kuma sneaked into 19-year old Sheriff Shaibu’s room also a native of Subinso No. 2 whiles he was fast asleep and made away with his Techno W3 mobile phone valued at GH₵350.00 together with a wallet containing an amount of GH₵245.
Luck however eluded Kwame Kuma when he was spotted by a witness in this case at the time he was coming out from Sheriff Shaibu’s room holding the mobile phone.
Kwame Kuma was convicted on his own plea on all three counts; unlawful entry; two, stealing mobile phone and three, stealing wallet and sentenced to 18-months imprisonment with hard labour . In addition, he was to refund the GH₵245.00 to Shaibu.
