The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has set timelines for its selection of a Parliamentary candidate for the upcoming by-election in Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.

This electoral process follows the death of Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, who was Member of Parliament on the NPP’s ticket.

Per the approved schedule, nominations for aspiring parliamentary candidates will open on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, and close on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

The main election is fixed for Saturday, April 13, 2024.

Aspiring candidates are to purchase nomination forms after paying a non-refundable application fee of GHC 3,000.00.

Also a non-refundable filing fee of GHC 35,000.00 must be paid to successfully file the nonomination.

But women, youth, and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), will have special consideration and will enjoy a 50% rebate on the filing fees.

The Election Committee (EC), to supervise the exercise will be chaired by Mr. Danquah Smith Butey and Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako as vice chairman.

The General Secretary of the NPP,  Justin Kodua Frimpong in a statement stressed that no individual would be denied access to purchase nomination forms.
