The 5-member ad hoc Parliamentary Committee that probed the cash-for-seat saga are expected to present report of its investigations to Parliament tomorrow.

This was after the ad-hoc committee failed to meet their deadline of presenting their findings to parliament today January 31,2017.

Speaking on behalf of the committee, the Majority Leader pleaded to the leadership of parliament on behalf of the committee to present their report on Thursday after it failed to conclude their report on Tuesday.

In view of that the Committee will submit its report on Thursday, he told the House Wednesday.

The Committee was expected to submit its report to the plenary for consideration and adoption, Wednesday, January 24, 2018, but was given a one week extension to conclude its work following a delay.

On January 5, 2018, the Minority Chief Whip moved a motion at an emergency Parliamentary sitting calling on the House to investigate the alleged levies collected by the Ministry of Trade & Industry of the Ghana Cedi equivalent of various sums up to US$100,000.00 from expatriate businesses and related matters during the recently held Ghana Expatriates Business Awards in Accra.

According to him, the documents at his disposal clearly showed that some monies were collected from expatriates, noting that such was unethical.

The motion was seconded by the MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
