Ghana winger Christian Atsu has undergone tests on Sunday to determine the extent of the injury he suffered at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday.

Extent in the damage will be known today when the results from the MRI scan comes back.

The Newcastle ace picked up an injury during Ghana’s goalless draw with defending champions Cameroon.

The 27-year old lasted only 15 minutes before he was replaced by Samuel Owusu.

Atsu is a major doubt for Ghana’s decisive Group F game against Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday.

The four-time winners will need to beat the Wild Dogs to progress to the last 16 of the competition.
