Executive secretary for Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) Mr Duncan Amoah has urged government to conduct a thorough investigation at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST).

The President on Monday 26th August 2019 accepted the resignation of former manager George Mensah Okley who resigned his position last Friday and has replaced him with Mr Edwin Provencal.

Mr Alfred Obeng was the first BOST general manager under the NPP government but was sacked for the sale of some contaminated fuel before he was replaced by Mr George Mensah Okley who just resigned last Friday and replaced with Mr Edwin Provencal.

Mr Mensah Okley’s resignation remains unclear but it is believed to be related to contracts awarded during his nearly two-year stint with BOST.

But Mr Dunacn Amoah believes the ousted director general should not just be sent packing home but a thorough investigative audit should be carried out.

“Should we just ask people to resign and say go home and continue to enjoy whatever booty gathered and the continue should continue to suffer or we should be able to get into the bottom of these matters

“We are calling immediately on authorities to ensure that whatever systemic failures, managerial failures that existed on the part of the former MD should be investigated immediately if investigations have not already been conducted.”

I don’t think that Ghanaians will be happy to see him go home so that whatever he has amassed for himself through dubious means is enjoyed all by himself” he stressed.
