The First Trustee of the Neoplan Branch Number 4 of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Mr. John Tetteh, has disclosed that disaffiliated members of the GPRTU are always favored by banks with loans to expand their business.

According to him, most private transport operators were birthed out of the GPRTU and are currently operating very well due to support they receive from Ghanaian banks.

Speaking exclusively to Leticia Ohene-Asiedu on Business Digest with Tish, Mr. John Tetteh said the GPRTU, is in need of financial assistance but is refused loans whenever they apply to the banks.

He indicated that most banks have the perception that the GPRTU is unable to pay loans thus the refusal to help.

The perception according to the First Trustee is very demeaning to the Union but is optimistic that the NPP government will give them the needed assistance.
