Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito expressed pride in his players' performance despite their failure to reach the finals of the CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

After returning from Egypt with a goalless draw in the first leg, Dreams FC entered the return leg in Kumasi with the advantage.

However, they fell short, succumbing to a 3-0 defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Goals from Hamza Mathlouthi, Samson Akinyoola, and Mostafa Shalaby sealed qualification for the 2019 Champions, securing their spot in the finals of the competition.

Reflecting on the match, Zito acknowledged missed opportunities, stating, "We should have won the game in the first half.

We could have scored four. I'm not disappointed at all." Despite the loss, he praised the team's resilience and highlighted their ability to create chances.

Zito attributed the defeat to a lack of experience, noting, "It's a lack of experience. The boys only gave up after the third goal."

Despite the outcome, he expressed pride in the team's journey, stating, "We couldn't make it to the final. But I'm proud of the boys, nobody thought we would reach here and I’m very happy."

Looking ahead, Dreams FC will shift their focus to the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup, where they have reached the semi-final.

Zito emphasized the importance of learning from the experience and expressed optimism for future endeavors, stating, "We will know how to go about such games next time. So we can be proud of the journey."

Despite the setback, Dreams FC remains determined to excel in domestic competitions and potentially return to Africa if they successfully defend their FA Cup title.
