Former Asante Kotoko captain Emmanuel Gyamfi maintains hope for his ex-club's resurgence despite their recent string of challenges under Coach Ogum's tenure.

Throughout 2024, Kotoko has encountered significant hurdles, securing only one victory in the league.

The team's performance woes have strained relations between management and fans, with supporters even disrupting a recent training session to demand Ogum's removal.

In the aftermath of a 2-0 defeat to Aduana, Gyamfi, now playing for the Ogya Boys, finds promise in Kotoko's display, seeing it as a positive indication for the team's future.

"Even though we [Aduana] beat them at Dormaa, their performance on the day showed they meant business, they were up to something," Gyamfi expressed in an interview with Ghanasportspage.com.

Disagreeing with critics of Ogum's coaching, Gyamfi emphasizes that the team's struggles are temporary setbacks rather than reflections of the coach's capabilities.

"So whoever condemns his performance as a coach, I will strongly disagree with that person," Gyamfi stated. "It’s rather unfortunate that things haven’t gone the way they wanted it."

As Kotoko aims to reverse their fortunes, attention now turns to their upcoming match against league leaders FC Sanartex.
