The National Petroleum Authority has said that fuel prices for Petrol and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will not change from January 2018.

The petroleum experts in statement indicated that the there won't be change in the prices due to the fall prices “in line with a drop in crude and petroleum prices on the world market, as well as stability in the exchange rate.”

The Authority further said that it has “activated the Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy to stem potential upward adjustment in the price of diesel.”

The Institute of Energy Security (IES) earlier this year predicted that there will be no major changes in the prices of fuel at the pumps during the Christmas celebration.

Richmond Rockson, who is an IES Principal Research Analyst on thursday, December 14, stated that the reason is “due to the fairly stable price of both Crude oil and refined products on the global oil market, coupled with the marginal dip of the Cedi’s value against the U.S. Dollar”.
