Prosper Harrison Addo (Esq), the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, has called upon communities to rally behind their local Colts football clubs.

These clubs, which host matches every week across every football district in the nation, offer grassroots football entertainment and serve as crucial platforms for talent identification.

Addo emphasized the indispensable role of Colts football clubs in football development and talent scouting.

He stressed the importance of community support for their sustainability and the success of initiatives like the Catch Them Young referees policy.

"Colts football clubs are vital in nurturing a passion for the game among young players, providing them with structured coaching, competitive opportunities, and a sense of community," stated the GFA General Secretary.

"They instill values like physical activity, teamwork, and discipline while acting as breeding grounds for future football stars."

Acknowledging the significant reliance of Colts clubs on community backing, Addo highlighted the potential impact of community support on shaping the future of football.

By uniting to bolster these clubs, communities can empower young players to pursue their football dreams and contribute positively to society.

"In collaboration, we can profoundly impact the lives of aspiring young footballers and ensure the sustained growth and success of grassroots football," concluded the GFA General Secretary, speaking after observing the Eastern Regional Football Association Middle League matches in Koforidua.
