The winner of the upcoming GHALCA G8 competition will pocket GH¢ 10,000 as prize money, ghanaguardian has gathered.

GHALCA released the monitory arrangement for the tournament that has been expanded to include the newly promoted premier league clubs ahead of the 2018 premier league campaign.

It however did not reveal how much the first runner-up will take.

The expanded format will see the top four clubs joined by the MTN FA Cup and the three promoted premier clubs.

Each of the 8 clubs, including Hearts and Kotoko, will receive an appearance fee of GHC20000.

The G8 arrangements  as followes:


  • Appearance fee ghc20000

  • Semi final ghc5000

  • Winner ghc10000

 

The G8 tournament which originally began as the GHALCATop 4 Tournament has seen a number of changes within the past few years.

GHALCA decided to expand the tournament from the previous edition of 6 teams to 8, and it will be hosted by two cities-Cape Coast and Kumasi

The annual off season competition will also see the organisers take 40% of the gate proceeds, 50% will go for the teams in match while 10% be paid  stadium usage.

League Champions Aduana Stars and FA Cup winners Asante Kotoko, are in group A together with Dreams FC and Eleven Wonders, who will be based in Kuamsi

The other section based in Cape Coast contains FA Cup finalist Hearts of Oak, WAFA, Ebusua Dwarfs and Karela FC.

The tournament will be played between 6th and 24th January, 2018 ahead of the new Ghana premier league season scheduled for February, 2018.
