Ghanaian goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has extended his contract with St Gallen, committing to the Swiss club until the conclusion of the 2026/27 season.

Ati-Zigi joined St Gallen from French side FC Sochaux in January 2020 and quickly established himself as a regular in the goal, becoming a reliable presence for the team.

During his time at Grünweiss, the goalkeeper also became a mainstay for the Ghanaian national team, notably representing his country at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

"We are extremely pleased to secure Lawrence's long-term commitment to FCSG. He is a top performer who impresses not only on the field but also off it with his professionalism, composure, and leadership," commented Roger Stilz, the sports director of FC St.Gallen.

"It was evident during our discussions that there was mutual desire for an extension. We are delighted with Lawrence's decision to continue with us. This reaffirms our belief in the bright future of FCSG," Stilz added.

In the current season, Ati-Zigi has kept five clean sheets, underscoring his importance as a key asset for St Gallen both on and off the pitch.
