The minister of trade and industry, Alan Kyeremanten, has commissioned West Africa’s largest steel factory at Kpone in the Greater Accra region.

The factory falls under the One District One Factory (1DF1) project.

The factory, which would produce iron aside steel, cost $80 million and is owned and operated by B5 Plus Limited.

Kyeremanten applauded the management of B5 Plus for their efforts and added that the factory would play an important role in Ghana’s development agenda.

Dailyguidenetwork reports that the company is set to provide about 3000 direct and a minimum of 10,000 indirect jobs.

About 1,200 workers have already been employed and Ghana is set to save about $100 million in foreign exchange.

In other news, a white man who uses the social media name, White Man Confession, has generated controversy online with a question he posed to Africans about weddings.

To him, white weddings are traditional to the white people and he is therefore wondering why Africans have developed a taste for it.

He again asked if there is no African way of getting married or if there were no weddings in Africa before the whites arrived in Africa.
