Ghana President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has paid tribute to songstress, Ebony Reigns, hailing her as 'extremely talented' following her tragic death.

Ebony, real name Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng,  lost her life together with two others after the Jeep they were travelling in was involved in an accident.

The Jeep they were driving in run into a VIP bus at Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South district of Ashanti Region on Thursday night which resulted in the deaths

The two others involved in the accident are Franky Kuri, her personal assistant and Atsu Vondee, a soldier.

The bubbly singer who was to turn 21 years on February 16, 2018 had been tipped to sweep the Artiste of the Year award at the yet to be held Vodfone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

President Akufo-Addo tweeted saying: “By all account, she had a very promising music career. My deepest condolences to her family, and to the families of the two others who died in the tragic accident.”

Prior to her unfortunate sudden demise, Ebony had been widely tipped as a major candidate for this year’s top award, Artiste of the Year.

The 90s Bad Gyal as she called herself released several hits songs and her performances were the toast at many events in the course of the year.
