Ghana striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has been awarded Red Star Belgrade’s 2017 Player of the Year award after a stellar campaign with the Serbian side.

The prolific forward notched an impressive 39 goals in 48 matches for the club throughout the year making him more than a worthy recipient of the accolade.

He has scored 15 League goals (only two shy of the top scorer) so far this season after 22 matches played with Belgrade sitting second on the standings.

The 24 year old has also been pivotal for the club in Europe. Boakye started the season with 5 goals in the first 3 games of qualifying matches of the club in 2017–18 UEFA Europa League.

He added two more goals in his 5th and 6th game of Europa League qualifying match appearances helping his side reach the round of 32 stage of the competition.

The Ghanaian goal-getter has been the team’s leading marksman since joining the Serbian outfit in January.
