Ghana is among the countries selected to take part in the first pan-African TV show by global beverage company Malta Guinness which will be staged in Nigeria later this year with the winner walking away with $20,000.

Malta Guinness has launched the show named the Maltavator Challenge that will see home-grown Nigerian talents compete against contestants from Ethiopia, Ghana and Ivory Coast.

According to a statement from the beverage maker, the Maltavator Challenge will comprise 40 contestants and will challenge consumers physically and mentally through an assortment of games and obstacles, with twist and turns that will keep participants on the edge.

It added that Nigeria would be playing host to all the other contestants as the TV show would be shot in Nigeria.

The statement added that the winner of the Maltavator Challenge would walk away with a grand prize of $20,000, while everyone else would win ‘goodie’ bags and cash prizes.

The Brand Manager, Malta Guinness and Premium Nonalcoholic Drinks, Ifeoma Agu, was quoted as saying, “This is such an exciting time for Malta Guinness in Nigeria.

"We don’t just say we care about our consumers, we show them by fuelling their greatness with exciting platforms such as this to demonstrate the brand’s purpose, which is to fuel the can-do spirit of Nigerians.

“The Maltavator challenge brings to life our brand purpose of fuelling the greatness of Nigerians and there is no better way of showing this than pitching this greatness alongside contestants from other countries.

“Malta Guinness is perhaps the only malt drink that can create this bold platform because we are 13 countries across Africa, fuelling the greatness of Africans as they turn the Malta Guinness into greatness.”
