Ghanaian defender Lalas Abubakar had the opportunity to meet the legendary Lionel Messi following the Major League Soccer (MLS) match between Colorado Rapids and Inter Miami.

Abubakar, who recently acquired US citizenship, witnessed the action from the bench as Colorado Rapids faced Messi's Inter Miami.

In a thrilling encounter, Messi made a significant impact after coming off the bench, scoring to help Inter Miami secure a 2-2 draw at home.

The visitors took the lead in the first half with a goal from Rafael Novarro, but Messi quickly equalized shortly after his substitution. He also played a crucial role in setting up Leo Alfonso for Miami's second goal.

However, Colorado Rapids managed to level the score two minutes before the end of the match through Cole Bassett.

This season, Abubakar has featured in only one game for Rapids in the MLS. The University of Dayton graduate joined Colorado Rapids in 2019 from Columbus Crew, following a successful loan spell.
