Ghana Referee, Anafo Nathan Ayindenaba is still savoring his recent elevation to the status of FIFA classified referee and he said he is yet to overcome the excitement he felt when he received the badge.

Upper East Region based official was one of Twenty-one (21) Ghanaian referees who received their FIFA badges for the year 2018 at the GFA Secretariat in Accra on Friday.

Anafo, a holder of B.A. degree in Information Communication Technology from the University of Education, Winneba, started his officiating career in 2006.

He became the most promising referee in 2014/15 season and has since handled over 20 matches in the Ghana premier league.

By acquiring the prestigious badge, Anafo stands a chance of officiating in any FIFA tournaments.

The 31-year-old is known for his unbiased officiating, courage and prowess in handling matches.

Speaking to GBC UraSports in Bolgatanga, the elated referee said the badge was acquired through a dint of hard work, dedication and luck.

“I will also want to thank my regional chairman Dawud Ouedraogo for all his encouragement and support since I joined the referee fraternity”

Anafo added that he is looking forward to officiating at the FIFA World cup one day.

“it is my biggest dream to one day officiate at the world cup and this badge is just the stepping stone to accomplishing such dream.
I know it will not come easy, but I will continue to work hard and pray for God luck as well.

Anafo Nathan recent elevation means he now joins Dawud Ouedraogo and Prosper Adii as the only FIFA referees based in the Upper East region.
