President Akufo-Addo has assured that government in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association will revive colts football in Ghana.

Speaking at the Aiteo CAF Awards in Accra, the President said his government is fully committed to the development of football in the country.

He revealed Government’s plans to partner the GFA in the construction of a number of football pitches across the country.

Akufo-Addo believes this step will aide in the revivals of failing colts football which has been responsible for the production of some of Ghana’s finest footballers including Abedi Ayew Pele, Tony Yeboah, Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan just to name a few.

He argued that Ghana needs to harness its footballing talents at a young age if the country is to continue its tradition as being one of the continent’s greatest footballing nations.

Ghana's Head of state Nana Akufo-Addo was honored with the platinum award at the ceremony presented to him by CAF President Ahmed.
