Ace sport analyst has Nana Kwaku Agyemang has called on the government to minimize its position with regards to cannabis as well as grant him the green light to begin a marijuana plantation.

The former Metro TV commentator has stated a couple of reasons that shows the importance of the plant, saying it could be it could be beneficial to cancer patients and other health conditions.

The former Okwahu United Coach said the export potential and foreign exchange of the plant will contribute significantly to the revenue of the country.

The drug, although criticised by many people has a lot of benefits which includes, helping to control epileptic seizures, decreasing anxiety, easing the pain of multiple sclerosis among others.

“I want a license where I can grow cannabis legitimately and export it to other countries who have a proper research and development department that can turn this into serious medicine to help us all and generate revenue for government through taxes,” he said while speaking to an Accra based radio station Class FM.

His perception about marijuana as he says is “very important plant, that can help us even sustain our lives much longer”.

He said the oil extracts can be used in medication for treating cancers, heart diseases, lung diseases and so many other health conditions adding “if you smoke it sometimes it can deal with other ailments that people are suffering from”.

Mr Agyemang further stated that the use of the plant in the construction sector in Western Australia has helped built an entire community out of ‘hempcrete’ instead of the usual concrete.

“I think we need to take a second look and have a national debate because there is a serious lack of understanding. Cannabis has been bastardised as something that Rastafarians just put in there and smoke [but] it is much more than that,” he said.
