Amidst recent upheavals within Ghanaian football, Vincent Sowah-Odotei, a board member of Hearts of Oak, has underscored the importance of embracing modern responsibilities among supporters of both Hearts and their arch-rivals, Asante Kotoko.

In light of incidents such as Kotoko fans disrupting a training session to demand the dismissal of coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, Sowah-Odotei stressed the need for supporters to comprehend the contemporary role of a football club supporter.

He emphasized the significance of respecting boundaries between supporters, management, and the board, advocating for each entity to operate within its designated sphere.

Sowah-Odotei stated, "Our supporters must begin to catch up with the modern responsibilities of supporters. Supporters, management, board, we all have boundaries, and we must respect the boundaries and allow everybody to have their space and take decisions."

Acknowledging Hearts of Oak's current standing as ninth in the league standings after 26 games in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Sowah-Odotei acknowledged the disappointment in the club's on-field results.

With Hearts gearing up to face Legon Cities next on Saturday, April 20, Sowah-Odotei's plea for modernization in supporter culture reflects a broader push for positive change within Ghanaian football.
