During the Annual General Meeting held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, shareholders of Hearts of Oak gave their overwhelming support to the appointment of the club’s new nine-member board, signaling a new chapter in the club’s journey.

The meeting, held at the Civil Service Auditorium in Accra, saw the formal establishment of the newly composed board, which includes both familiar faces and fresh additions.

Notable figures such as Vincent Sowah-Odotei and Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe retained their positions on the board, ensuring continuity and experience in the leadership team.

Additionally, Ivy Heward Mills, a former director, remains as one of the retained members in the new setup.

However, there were changes in the composition, with Alhaji Braimah Moro Akanbi not being re-nominated.

In contrast, prominent personalities like Professor Agyemang Badu Akosa, a former flagbearer hopeful of the Convention People's Party, and Ken Ashigbey, Chief Executive of the Telecommunications Chamber, joined the new board, bringing diverse expertise and perspectives.

Akwasi Agyemang, CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, also entered the board, bringing a wealth of experience from his involvement in football governance, including roles in the Division One League and the Fundraising Committee for Ghana's 2022 World Cup campaign.

Another valuable addition is Samuel Wilfred Yaw Inkoom, a chartered accountant and tax practitioner, who brings his financial acumen to the board.

These seven individuals complement the existing leadership team, consisting of the club's majority shareholder, Togbei Afede XIV, and managing director, Delali Anku-Adiamah, who were previously announced as directors in February.

This significant restructuring follows the dissolution of the former board in February, marking a strategic shift in the club's administration.

Furthermore, in the playing body, the appointment of Aboubakar Ouattarra as the new coach for the Phobians ahead of the second round of the Ghana Premier League underscores the club's commitment to revitalizing both administrative and sporting aspects.

With these changes, Hearts of Oak aims to embark on a new trajectory, driven by a blend of experience, fresh perspectives, and a shared vision for success on and off the pitch.
