Promising actress, Andrea Owusu known in showbiz as Efia Odo has said her rise to stardom was via social media and not through movies as has been put out by a section of the public.

The 26 years old actress noted that her sexy pictures she posted on her social media platforms get her more following than the movies she has featured in.

Apart from her social media ‘sexy’ body dispaly, Efia Odo also added that her outspoken personality is a factor to her popularity.

“I made my name because of Insatgram and because of the kind of pictures I post on social media. I’ve read comments that people ask ‘why is this girl a celebrity’ and it’s not like I haven’t done movies but I haven’t done a lot for my name to be popular. It’s all about my Instagram pictures, my provocative ways or my outspoken personality and not because of my movies. Some people will think is because of ‘Heels and Sneakers’ but I have been shooting before ‘Heels and Sneakers’. So not because of the movies that I’m known for Efia Odo but I’m known because of social media.”
The ‘Royal Diadem’ actress told Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM, she works as a nurse assistant in the US and make good money for herself so not bothered when she isn’t getting movie roles.

Commenting on why she is not mostly featured in movies, the vivacious actress said directors and producers are not giving her roles to play.

“It’s not my fault that I’m not referred to as a known actress because they aren’t calling me, they aren’t giving me jobs. Kofi Asamoah said the reason why he always casts the known faces in his movies is because they are good to him, they respect his works and will not waste his time to go and call the up and coming actors since they are disrespectful but I can’t speak for them because I’m not like that but he (Kofi Asamoah) doesn’t know that.”
Odo is not oblivious of the negative perception and contempt she might court in society for such a daring role, but she is nonetheless ready to give it a shot to make a strong statement.
