Multi-awarded Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, known in real life as Michael Kwesi Owusu Addo, has come under intense criticisms following an interview he granted Zylofon FM in Accra.

Sarkodie, speaking with Sammy Flex, host of the radio station's mid-morning entertainment programme, touched on some grievances expressed by his colleague musicians who are disappointed in him over his attitude of not showing up when they need his help.

Particularly was a question about Sarkodie not turning up to shoot a music video with rapper Edem some time ago.

Edem, before Sarkodie's interview with Zylofon FM to promote his new album dubbed ''No Pressure, had expressed his disappointment that Sarkodie failed to pick his phone calls nor be present for his music video after featuring him on a song.

In Sarkodie's response, he admitted not appearing on set with Edem but emphasized it may have been as a result of his chronic forgetfulness and not a calculated plot against Edem.

''I really don't want to speak on it because sometimes things happen like when the Yemi Alade issue happened, I still can't play back to exactly what happened. So, I will only have to agree with what the person is saying even if it might not be true but then, because, if I want to remember it; I don't know exactly how it played out...I don't remember the day that maybe we were supposed to shoot...'', he said.

On the issue of not picking his phone calls, he disclosed it is not just his fellow musicians who have an issue with him but his mother too.

He stated that even his mother complains bitterly about him not picking her calls, adding it is not only phone calls he refuses to pick but also extends it to reading notification messages on his phone.

He explained that his refusal to pick phone calls or read notifications is not intentional.

''With the calls thing...my mom has the same issue with me. When you ask my mom right now, that's what she will tell you...She will say my own son even picks up by chance because I never put the notification and I go on WhatsApp and you have a lot of messages. Sometimes, I sit down one day and scale through, then I will see that maybe someone has messaged me for a long time; then I go in to have a conversation.

''But, I really at a certain point, I try not to keep up with picking calls 24/7. Unless I know I'm going to do something today or I'm looking forward to do this and then I keep it on to keep up. So, [it's not] I can agree that probably, he's been calling me and not getting through but it's not just because it's him. I don't know; it's a general thing'', he revealed in an audio recording played on Peace FM's Saturday's ''Entertainment Review'' hosted by Akwasi Aboagye.
