The Minority leader in Ghana's Parliament, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has revealed that he has not taken over Karela United as it's been speculated widely.

Although he admits that he is in to support the club but no take-over has been completed as its been reported.

"I'm yet to takeover as the new Karela United owner but currently we're in to support the team. We will do our best to put the club forward," he said

The Tamale South legislator is reported to have acquired all the stakes in the Anyinase-based club from Abena Brigidi for a fee in the region of $600,000.

According to the reports, when the sale is finalized, the Premier League team will be moved from the Western Region to the Northern Region.

Karela United has never been the same since the sudden demise of its owner and major benefactor David  Cobbinah Brigidi in 2018.

The club has since been hampered by financial troubles among several others as they currently lie 15th on the league log with 11 points from 9 matches.

The head coach  of the side Bismark Cobby Mensah has since resigned

Haruna Iddrisu is currently the owner of Ghana Division One League Side, Steadfast FC in the Zone One.
