Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has expressed his country's willingness to promote relationship and cooperation with Ghana in all economic, scientific and cultural areas.

Rouhani on  Saturday met with new Ghanaian Ambassador to Iran Sayuti Yahaya Iddi in Tehran,where the latter handed over his credentials to the Iranian president.

"Tehran is keen to cement its economic, scientific, cultural and health cooperation with Accra,"Rouhani said.

“By identifying the existing potentialities for promotion of cooperation and activating the private sectors of both countries, the Joint Iran-Ghana Cooperation Commission should create a suitable atmosphere to enhance Tehran-Accra relations.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran stands ready to forge closer cooperation with Ghana in the fields of culture, health, and medical treatment.”

According the Iranian president, the Joint Commission of Cooperation of Iran and Ghana must identify the potentials and capacities for developing cooperation and activate the private sectors of the two countries to create a good atmosphere for deepening Iran-Ghana relations.

On his part,Iran Sayuti Yahaya,who now replaces Alhaji Bawah Gilbert Ayembillah asGhana's ambassador to Iran,expressed appreciation to Iran for offering assistance to his country, especially in the field of health and hygiene.
He underlined that there exists great potential for promotion of reciprocal ties, adding Accra is keen to further enhance its relations with Tehran.

"There are ample potentials for developing relations and cooperation between the two countries and we always welcome promotion of ties with Iran,” Sayuti Yahaya said.
