Outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has descended heavily on some prophets describing them as fake men of God who are using the name of the Lord to deceive innocent Christians in the country.

According to him, ‘fake’ prophets in Ghana insist their prophecies come directly from God and are subjecting the country to international ridicule.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” Tuesday, Mr Agyapong indicated that these spiritual ‘hustlers’ are the same people who are always seen around the President.

He said they have skillfully learnt how to play on the economic, political, and spiritual insecurities of many Christians.
As a result, some of these so called prophets have become experts in the exploitation of the vulnerabilities of the people who solemnly believe in them.

“All these fake prophets who parade themselves as real prophets are not and are deceiving innocent citizens. What puts me off most is those who are always seen around the President after criticizing him…if I were to be the President, I would have jailed all of them and dealt with them because they are engaging in broad day robbery,” he warned.

Though he did not mention names, the controversial MP advised President Akufo-Addo to be cautious of these prophets.

“I hate it when Nana Addo mentions their names and acknowledges them. It really puts me off because after deceiving their members to pay tithe, they end up at the Presidency to seek for sympathy,” he said.

Ken Agyapong however urged Ghanaians to move pass these dishonest thoughts and pursue common sense solutions to the challenges facing them which he believes is the only way people can keep these fake prophets out of their lives.
