Captain of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Amos Frimpong expects a difficult test in Congo when they travel in a fortnight to face CARA club for the 2nd leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.
The Porcupine Warriors took a narrow 1-0 advantage against the Congolese outfit in a farcical encounter on Sunday at the Babayara Stadium in Kumasi.
Despite dominating the match, MTN FA Cup holder’s squandered three penalties before converting the very last one that won them the day.
Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Amos Frimpong assured that the team is working hard to ensure they get a favorable result in the reverse fixture although he admits it is going to be a real test of character.
“We are working very hard as a team and ready to make an impact in the 2nd leg which will be played in Congo
We know it won't be easy but we are ready to go all out and win“
The defender also urged the fans to keep faith with the team; “I want to tell all the fans to continue supporting us because we are ready to qualify and make them proud”
The winner of the tie will face either Ben Guerdane of Tunisia or Al Hilal Juba of South Sudan in the next round of the competition.
Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei has already promised to reward each player with a two bedroom apartment should the team win this year's CAF Confederations Cup.
He also promised GH¢20,000 for each player if the team qualifies for the group stage.
