Ghanaian international Kwadwo Asamoah impressed as a substitute for Juventus as they beat Tottenham by 2-1 in the second leg of the round of 16 stage of the UEFA Champions League to advance to the quarter-finals.

Spurs came into the tie with a slight advantage having played a 2-2 draw in Turin a fortnight ago.

They opened the scoring at Wembley on Wednesday evening through South Korea star Son Heung-min in the 39th minute.

But two goals in three minutes from Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala in the second half floored Mauricio Pochettino's side as their European run finally came to a halt with a 4-3 aggregate defeat.

Kwadwo Asamoah who climbed off the bench in the 60th minute to replace Blaise Matuidi took to his social media pages to express his joy after the match.

“We never gave up and fought together as a great team. We thank God for this great victory. Well done guys let’s keep fighting together till the end.”
