Former England striker Michael Owen has heaped praise on Jordan Ayew for his stunning goal in Crystal Palace's recent clash against Everton.

Ayew, the Ghanaian international, broke the deadlock at Goodison Park with a remarkable strike from outside the box in the 60th minute.

Despite Ayew's brilliance, Everton managed to salvage a draw with a late equalizer from substitute Amadou Onana in the 84th minute.

Owen, impressed by Ayew's goal, lauded the forward's technique and precision, describing it as a "wonderful strike" that left Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford helpless.

"Ayew gets the ball out of his feet and it’s just a wonderful strike from 20 yards out and it’s a lovely strike. There’s nothing much the keeper can do about that.

The ball just drops to Ayew and it’s a great strike," Owen remarked, acknowledging the quality of Ayew's finish.

Ayew's goal marked his third of the season, adding to his tally of eight goal contributions in the 2023/24 campaign.

Reflecting on his performance, Ayew expressed gratitude to his team and emphasized the collective effort in securing a valuable point away from home.

“I thank God and I thank the team for the effort they put in.

I don't want to talk too much about my goal, but the most important thing for me is the team, and we're happy to go home with a point," Ayew stated after the game, highlighting the team's unity and satisfaction with the result.
