Mohammed Kudus describes his transition from Ajax Amsterdam to West Ham United in the Premier League as a significant leap forward in his career.

The Ghanaian international completed a move to West Ham, signing a five-year contract for a transfer fee of €43 million (£36.9 million), marking a pivotal moment in his football journey.

“It was a bigger step from Amsterdam [to the Premier League], but I know what it takes to play at this level and before I made the decision to come here I knew my capabilities and what I can do," Kudus remarked on West Ham United's official website.

Having garnered attention with standout performances at Ajax, Kudus brings confidence and determination to his new challenge in the Premier League. While acknowledging the demanding nature of English football, he expresses readiness to embrace it fully.

Prior to his move to West Ham, the 23-year-old attracted interest from several top clubs, underscoring his quality and potential impact on the field.

Since joining West Ham, Kudus has notched up 10 goals in all competitions, showcasing his ability to make an immediate impact.

Despite the team's recent struggles, Kudus remains upbeat about their prospects, emphasizing the importance of resilience and perseverance in overcoming challenges.

“We’re going through a difficult spell but everyone is trying. We are not giving up - we are still trying to make it happen, taking players on and creating chances.

That’s the most important thing for me - as long as you’re trying to change the situation then it will improve," Kudus reiterated.

As West Ham seeks to reverse their fortunes, Kudus's arrival adds depth and talent to their squad, offering optimism for a turnaround in upcoming fixtures.

The team's next challenge awaits as they prepare to face Brentford at the London Stadium on Monday night.
