Mrs. Ruth Addo, a philanthropist, has built an ultra-modern health Facility for the residnets of Akyem-Kukurantumi in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region.

With the assistance of Mrs, Gifty Twum-Ampofo, MP for Abuakwa North, the facility was furnished with medical equipment before handing over to the Eastern Regional Health Directorate.

At the commissioning of the facility held over the weekend, Dr. Hectoria Awekeye, Acting Deputy Director of Clinical Services, representing the Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Winifred Ofosu, conveyed heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Ruth Addo and the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, for their endeavors in establishing a new health center in the area.

She mentioned that the Regional Health Authorities have welcomed the facility and are in the process of integrating NHIS services, as well as arranging for the deployment of healthcare personnel.

Mrs. Gifty Twum-Ampofo, MP for Abuakwa North, who contributed roofing, medical equipment valued at slightly over One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc 100,000), and other essentials, highlighted the significance of supporting beneficial initiatives with her NHIS funds for the welfare of her constituents.

She also called upon NGOs, philanthropists, and individuals of goodwill to lend their support to the facility.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, on his side also expressed gratitude to both the MP and the philanthropist for their generous contributions to augment the efforts of government in healthcare delivery and promised to put the facility into the best of use for the benefit of the Municipality.
