The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) can boast of better women in Ghanaian Politics than the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) says Abigail Elorm Mensah.

The former NDC Member of Parliament aspirant of the Fanteakwa South seat in the Eastern Region stated that the NDC has given more women the opportunity to lead at the party level than the NPP has.

She further chided NPP for not showing commitment to women’s development in the party.

According to her, Unlike the NDC, the NPP has no single woman in the leadership affairs of the party which is a clear indication the party is not committed to the development of women in the structure of the party.

Madam Abigail accused the leadership of the NPP of being threatened by the women in the party hence relegating them to the smaller positions in the party.

She added that the NDC as a party sees women as partners to the development of the party therefore has two elected women who attend Functional Executives Committee (FEC) meetings.
