Nicholas Opoku returned to action on Saturday for his team Amiens SC in the French Ligue 2 game against Grenoble Foot 38 at the Stade de la Licorne.

The Ghanaian center back sat out Ghana's last friendly game against Qatar last Monday after sustaining an injury in the three nil drubbing against Mali.

Opoku played in Ghana's heavy loss to West African neighbours playing with Alexander Djiku at center back.

He helped his struggling side Amiens keep a clean sheet as they won the game by a solitary goal.

Despite the home team asking a lot of questions of Grenoble in the first half, they were unable to score as the first half ended  goalless.

But that will soon change in the second half of the game as striker Stephen Odey gave Amiens the only goal and winner of the game in the 64th minute.

Nicholas Opoku played the full duration of the game as his side recorded only their second victory in seven league games this season.

Amiens currently lie 15th on the 20 team French Ligue 2 table.
