Former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has hit back with an expletive-filled post on social media firmly dismissing claims he has reached out to Barcelona in order to secure himself a return to his former club.

With Claudio Bravo reportedly on his way out of the Catalan club, the Napoli shot stopper has been tentatively linked with a move back to the Nou Camp, where he made his professional debut 16 years ago.

While Barcelona also remain paired with Valencia's Diego Alves as a possible replacement for Bravo, Catalan daily Sport have claimed Reina has directly contacted Luis Enrique to offer his services.

However, in an on the nose post on his Twitter page, the goalkeeper labelled the reports as lies saying he has not offered himself to anyone.

"Bulls***! I have not offered myself to anyone. Enough lies. Always and forever Forza Napoli. Now let's get ready for Sunday. Clear?" Reina tweeted in Italian.

Below is Reina's tweet in Italian language:

Napoli begin their league campaign away to Pescara on Sunday (21 August).
