The final fuenaral rites for the for late senior citizen and retired diplomat Kwaku Baprui Asante, popularly known as K.B. Asante, at the forecourt of the State House.

The pre-burial service was well attended by family members, friends, loved ones, politicians, people from academia and indeed people from all walks of life.

Notable persons present at the event included; vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former president, Jerry John Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings; National Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Prof. Edmund Dele; A member of the Council of State, Sam Okudzeto, among others were all present at the event.

The K.B. Asante’s family is expected to hold a private burial for him after the burial service.

K.B. Asante died on January 22, 2018 in Accra at age 93.

He was born on March 1, 1924, K.B. Asante was the Secretary to Ghana’s First President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, and served under a number of Heads of States in Ghana.

He also served as the Principal Secretary at African Affairs Secretariat from 1960 to 1966.
