The Black Stars of Ghana commenced their training sessions in Kumasi as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification game against Madagascar later in the week.

After opening camp in Accra on Monday, the male senior national team, led by head coach Chris Hughton and his assistants, moved their training base to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The first training session took place in the evening and saw the participation of 22 players who had reported to camp.

Among them were notable names such as Joseph Paintsil, Baba Iddrisu, Denis Odoi, Abdul Fatawu Hamidu, Nicholas Opoku, Osman Bukari, Majeed Ashimeru, Jordan Ayew, Edmund Addo, Andre Ayew, Jonathan Sowah, and Gideon Mensah.

Other players present included Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, Joseph Wollacott, Richard Ofori, Ernest Nuamah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Daniel Amartey, Kassim Nuhu Adams, Abdul Salis Samed, and Mohammed Kudus.

It is expected that the remaining players will join the camp before the end of the day.

The training sessions are crucial for the Black Stars as they aim to fine-tune their strategies and coordination ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Madagascar.
