UK based pop duo Reggie and Bollie joined the line of stars to celebrate the 35th birthday of former Ghana Internation Michael Essien.

The former Chelsea Star, whose football career has taken a nosedive after joining Indonesian side ,turned 35 on Sunday.

The  Persib Bandung midfielder twitted to to thank the stars, who joined him in the celebration.

"Enjoying his birthday with ReggieNBollie . Thanks for coming guys - was a pleasure having you round," Essien said on his official social media page.

Former Ghana Black Stars team captain Stephen Appiah also shared a photo celebrating his former colleague.

Essien has enjoyed a flamboyant football career in Europe that saw him play in France, England and Italy.

He also played for Antalya, in Turkey before moving to Indonesia.

At the time of his transfer from Olympique Lyon to Chelsea Football Club in 2005, Michael Essien was the most expensive signing of all time with Chelsea paying 24,4 million Pounds for the midfielder.

This surpassed a transfer fee of 24 million Pounds paid for Ivorian striker, Didier Drogba, paid the season before. Unlike Michael, Stephan Appiah has transitioned from playing professional football to participating in football management. He is currently senior national teams Technical Director.
