Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram constituency Sam George has questioned the Nima Divisional Police Command if they will be able to protect President Akufo-Addo from Boko Haram attacks.

He further wondered why the police couldn’t protect the President from the traders who cannot be numbered to 100.

His comment comes on the back of the traders who have been evicted from operating around the President’s house.

According to him, the traders are not evicted because they pose security threat to the President and that he just wants to beautify his house.

Speaking on Morning Starr, the law maker said, ‘The decision to evict the traders is an aesthetic decision not a national security issue. The Nima Divisional Police Command cannot protect the President from 25 traders? That is very serious…can they then protect him from Boko Haram?’.

The traders and artisans were compensated with amounts ranging from GH¢3,000-GH¢10,000.

Some have refused to pack out arguing that they were not part of the initial eviction.
