English Premiership side Stoke City are set to intensify their chase to bring Ghana defender Daniel Opare to the Bet365 Stadium for a reported fee of £2.5million when the transfer window opens on January 1st.

Stoke manager, Mark Hugh is a huge fan and has sanctioned the move for the 27 year old defender who is comfortable in either full-back role.

Opare’s three-year contract with Augsburg expires next summer, therefore the German club are willing to listen to offers in January or risk losing him for free when the season ends.

Two other Premier League sides Everton and Watford have also shown interest in the Ghana international, who has won 18 caps for Black Stars.
