The upcoming 2024 WAFU Zone B U-17 tournament is set to take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, scheduled to be held in Accra from May 15 to May 29, 2024.

This significant event serves as the qualifying platform for the 2024 TotalEnergies U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

The tournament will feature prominent teams such as Ghana's Black Starlets, Cote D'Ivoire, Benin in Group A, and Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Togo in Group B.

To ensure optimal preparation for the participating teams, training pitches at the University of Ghana have been designated, including the Athletics Oval field, the Mensah Sarbah field, and The Union Ghana Soccer field.

The recently inaugurated University of Ghana Stadium, commissioned on March 2, 2024, has already showcased its capabilities by hosting two matches of the Africa Games Men’s Football tournament held in Accra two months prior.

Anticipation runs high among football enthusiasts residing in and around the University of Ghana vicinity, including areas such as Okponglo, Madina, Haatso, East Legon, Bawaleshie, and Achimota.

The tournament promises to deliver thrilling matches, drawing spectators from these neighborhoods to witness the action firsthand.
